The one word that comes to mind first when thinking of Kelli’s and Colin’s wedding is pretty. Their color palette, florals and everything in between are some of my very favorites. Adding to the beauty was the fact that this wedding was at one of the most beautiful venues in Charlotte, Whitehead Manor. Melissa with What’s Up Buttercup knocked these flowers out of the park.
Kelli is just the kindest soul (of course she is a teacher!) and Colin is such a wonderful guy who absolutely adores hers. These two decided not to do an official send off at the end of the night but elected instead to do a last dance with their family and friends surrounding them. At the end of their dance, very naturally, everyone came together for a huge group hug and it was such a beautiful thing to watch and photograph. You could feel the love so tangibly. Kelli and Colin just recently announced that they are expecting their first baby and I know that this little one is going to enter such a sweet circle of family of friends. Congrats, you two!

2017…whew, what I year! I was just telling a friend yesterday that I think I might be traveled out for a while. That is HUGE coming from me who LOVES traveling, has lived in 4 different countries, and visited to countless places. This year was definitely the year of travel for us as we got to go near and far to photograph some incredible weddings. From Texas to ITALY, from Charlottesville to Charleston, from Asheville to Charlotte, we have loved every minute of it. Well, except the minutes I was missing my babies which is why this winter will be a nice break free of travel.
Nonetheless, it has been an amazing year and I am so thankful.
I have wanted to do a “Best Of” post every year but somehow have never managed to get around to it. I am so excited to finally post one and after looking at all these images, it really does make me feel so proud to see all of the beauty we have captured. A HUGE thank you to my assistant and awesome second shooter (who I affectionately call my ‘right hand’), Makenzie who has put in just as much work if not more than me to make this year successful.
I challenged myself to pick only ONE image from every shoot we did which was extremely difficult, but I love having a little snippet of the year at a glance. We did almost 50 shoots this year and for this mom of 4 boys, who is running a business, homeschooling 1 boy 2-days per week, has 2 in pre-school, and 1 under the age of a year, that is A LOT. I am so thankful to have gotten all this accomplished and delivered some gorgeous sessions to my amazing clients.
Thank you all for trusting us to capture some of your most precious memories year. I am excited to see what 2018 holds.
I can’t believe I am just now sharing some of my gorgeous 2017 weddings. Last year was a wonderful for year for us professionally and personally and I am excited to finally put some of the pretty things we shot out there in the world. read more
Jason and Jenna’s wedding day was one for the books. There are just some weddings that fit my style completely and this is one of them. I have used their images on much of my promo material and website for a couple of years now. It was just a couple of weeks ago that I realized I never BLOGGED these two. So I’m doing in now almost 2 years later. The passing of time really doesn’t matter because these images are timeless and so it this couple. read more
Kelley Beth and John’s wedding was my last in 2016 before I had baby boy #4 in February. Boy did I get to go out with a bang with these two. They are just the best the be around and were such a joy for us to photograph. I love the bold fuschia’s in Kelley Beth’s bouquet as well as the bridesmaid’s dresses. Such a perfect color for a fall wedding. John is such a gentleman and just adore’s KB as you will see in the images. KB & John, thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of your day, I couldn’t imagine it going any better than it did. I adore you two! read more
Britney and Evan’s wedding day way absolutely perfect. These two planned to leave Charlotte and move all the way to San Francisco, California just after their honeymoon so this was truly like a last hooray for them with their family and friends. You could definitely feel the love all day long. read more
Cara and Andrew’s summer wedding day was such a sweet day. These two had people fly in from all over the U.S. to come celebrate and you could just feel the love throughout the day. The Charlotte City Club was the perfect Uptown setting for this stylish couple. I love so many aspects about their wedding details and their send-off was completely adorable so don’t miss that! Thank you, Cara and Andrew for allowing me to be apart of your most special day, I love your images so much! read more
When I met with Patricia in May of last year, over a year out from her Sept 2016 wedding, I knew from the beginning that she was a bride that I had to work with. Her style fit with mine perfectly, and I loved that beautiful details mattered to her while also being very type A and organized. Just like me! Patricia and Devin’s wedding was soft and airy and so down to earth. I loved every part of it. We got to photograph their bride and groom portraits in the best light of the day and they have turned out to be some of my all-time favorites. Thank you to Lauren with Head Over Heels Events for making this day run so smoothly! read more
Natalia & Richie’s wedding day was nothing short of amazing. In addition to the the fact that these two are kind of the most beautiful, they are so incredibly sweet and down to earth. Natalia’s details were stunning (that bolero she is wearing? LOVE) and The Ballantyne Hotel pulled off such a classy wedding reception. It was a sweet time to have all of Richie’s family and all of Natalia’s family together, some meeting for the first time since many of Natalia’s family members came from Spain. I feel so honored to have been apart of such a special day. read more
