One thing that comes up pretty quickly when people get to know me is that I spent 3 years living in the Middle East after college. The majority of that time was spent living and Lebanon and it is no secret that this country is very near and dear to my heart. I was interviewed in the recent issue of Carolina Bride and one of the questions asked was, “If you could share a meal with anyone, who would it be?” While many people would answer a famous person or maybe a beloved author or musician, I answered for all my friends from my time in Lebanon to be in one room at the same time. Since leaving Beirut in 2008 many of us have scattered around the U.S. and the world. What I wouldn’t give to have us all back together again.
Leah was one of those people. Not just one of those people but my roommate most of my time there and she quickly became one of my best friends. The adventures that we had together along with our other roommate Jami were endless and hilarious. I love this girl with my whole heart and it meant the world to me to be able to photograph her wedding ten years after we met for the first time.
Leah and Travis have known each other since high school and even went to prom together one year! But life took them on different paths and it wasn’t until a couple years ago that those paths crossed again. In the same town they grew up in. Things moved pretty quickly and which led to many of us celebrating with these two on April 9th of this year. I had such a good time shooting in a new place with new scenery and I hope to get another destination wedding in the next year. Oklahoma landscapes are breathtaking, and even in the midst of the crazy wind these images are so pretty.
